「姫 HIME」シリーズのデザインストーリー

The design story of the "Hime HIME" series

Nanako Plus's Temari Ame has one called "Hime" (Princess).

I will talk about the design story of the "Hime HIME" series.

One of Japan's traditional events is " Girl's Festival ," a festival held on March 3rd to pray for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. It is also known as " Peach Festival " or " Girl's Festival . "

This ancient Chinese ritual to ward off evil spirits was introduced to Japan, and it came to be celebrated with Hina dolls and colorful sweets.

There is a type of candy from Kyoto called "Kyoto Hina," which is a type of candy associated with the Doll's Festival.

●Parts coated with Temari candy "Kyoto Hina" ↓Candy with elegant colors that are typical of Kyoto.

●The image of a Hina doll wearing a transparent peach-colored kimono, in keeping with the name " Peach Festival "

I made some Detemari candy. The purple and yellow lines give it a Kyoto vibe. It's called "Momohime" ↓

●We created temari candy using the seven colors of the rainbow, as wearing seven colors is said to bring good fortune. The result is a graceful temari candy that is typical of Kyoto. We named it "Nanahime" after the auspicious colors and the Doll's Festival, which is a festival for praying for good fortune.

This is the most popular Temari candy at Nanako Plus right now.

We created temari candy in the fantastical color "lapis lazuli," which evokes the deep sea and clear skies. It was used in dyeing and glassware during the Heian period, and is beloved as a sacred and beautiful color, appearing in "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter." The lines are based on the image of the princess wearing a kimono in the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

I named her "Rurihime."

■The bubbles made from the syrup of real candy and the handmade lines of different sizes are very tasteful.

The uneven shapes created by printing and machines capture the heart of the candy maker and the transience of each candy, as no two candies are alike.
